Learn more about the IGS

Organization

The TRR 80 integrated graduate school (IGS) is organized in the framework of a Further Training Unit (FTU).

IGS FTU organization

Within the FTU the IGS supports the Ph.D. students only, while the Training Program is offered to all Young Researchers (YRs), i.e. Bachelor, Master and Diploma students as well as postdocs. The FTU is run by the FTU-Board, consisting of elected representatives of the senior scienticts and the YRs.

Benefits

The comprehensive Training Program offered to all YRs consists of the Regular Lectures of AU, LMU and TUM, special organised Focused Lectures, a YR Forum, YR Workshops, Summer Schools and Cross-disciplinary Exchange. See the curriculum for further details.

The double mentoring concept of the FTU is based on a combination of progress reports and a regular exchange of ideas with the principal investigators (PIs), as well as with an additional senior scientist who is not collaborating directly with the YR.

Financial support may be requested by the YRs for small research projects, scientic visits, the invitation of collaborators, soft-skills courses and so forth. Details can be found below (for registered users only).
